Demerara Stables is a boutique training and rehab facility located a few miles from the coast in peaceful San Gregorio, California. We specialize in starting and training young sporthorses as well as rehabilitating horses' bodies and minds after injury or a grueling training/show schedule.

We produce happy, well adjusted, amateur-friendly horses that excel in jumpers, hunters, and dressage. Horses are started properly with a strong emphasis on ground work, teaching them to be confident, willing partners. They learn to use their bodies correctly from day one, so that they are strong and fit for their entire lives. After starting undersaddle, horses are taught the basics of classical dressage, focusing on impulsion, straightness, and regularity of the gaits. Horses warm up and cool down for each ride outside the arena, and are hauled off site for schooling and hacking as well.

Lauren spent many years as a technician for numerous veterinarians that worked exclusively with sporthorses, and has developed a skill and passion for rehabilitation. Demerara Stables can accommodate any instructions from your veterinarian - stall rest, small paddock turnout, handwalking, icing, wrapping, lasering, the list goes on. We will also slowly and properly bring your horse back to full work - leave the trot sets to us and get your partner back in top shape, ready to start competing!

The brand-new facility boasts 12x16 custom-designed stalls bedded in deep shavings, an open design with safety glass windows and skylights in each stall, and exterior stall doors that open to a large grass pasture. The barn, pasture, and arena are all monitored 24/7 by security cameras, and Lauren lives on-site. We offer all day group or individual turnout with safe, non-electric Centaur fencing. There is a 200x135 irrigated and well-draining arena, as well as numerous trails just out the back gate. Come see our world-class facility for yourself!
