We are looking for a professional, responsible, punctual stable assistant/groom to work in a positive team environment. We have a well established program that caters to dressage riders and jumper riders and the stable manager plays a vital role in the overall operations of the barn, including the health of the horses and the daily routine of the barn. The stable manager’s first responsibility is the well-being of each horse. Must be motivated, willing to follow directions, and provide top level horse care to our top quality horses; also must be willing to work as a team, but be independent enough to work on their own when needed. It is imperative that the stable manager have a healthy relationship with students, parents, barn staff, and vendors. This individual will be an integral part of the program, and therefore it is crucial that his/her presentation be friendly and respectful with a willingness to work with others, as well as creating and fostering a kind and safe environment at all times. Daily duties include: overall barn management, managing nutrition and medications, feeding, turnouts, grooming, clipping, blanketing, performing stable cleaning tasks, working in conjunction with the farrier, veterinarian and other barn vendors to put together the best schedule and care for each horse, ordering grain/supplements, and other tasks as requested to support the program. This position also requires late night requirements such as ship-ins, sick horses, early departures, and working when other staff calls out sick. Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50lbs and to be active in general during an entire shift. We have an amazing group of people and horses and we are looking for a new teammate who will thrive in a long-term position! Our program is outlined at CoreEquestrian.com
