Stella
STELLA
13h mare, 2011 welshXhaflinger
This girl loves to jump! She has spent the last coulple years in a lesson program: leadline, lungeline lessons, walk-trot, group lessons, taking kids over their first xrail up to 2'6" courses. The rider just has to point her at the next line and Stella will take care of the rest, leads, distances, strides in a combination, etc. She loves her job and will take care of her rider.
She is much happier as a show pony, loves to work hard and compete, so looking for an ambitious kid who wants to be competitive in the Jumpers or Eventers.
Loves trail rides and riding out in the fields, alone or in a group, along traffic, over bridges, bicycles, tractors, dogs, never spooky. Perfect ground manners, can be handled by anyone. Will stand patiently in the cross-ties or tied to the trailer all day, loads politely, a breeze for the farrier, clip her ears without need for twitching or sedation(just a few carrots for bribery), let the kids bathe her, give pony rides to the little tots, an absolute favorite around the barn.
Plenty of local show miles, ready to go play in the licensed shows. Same horse off-property as she is at home, stroll around the show grounds on a long rein, never any silliness.
JUMPERS: Showing 75cm(2'6"), schooling 3', free-jumping 1m(3'3"). Never touches a rail, finds a nice close distance for you, can jump on an angle, has never blinked at bright colors, fillers, or spreads up to 3', changes canter leads effortlessly. Always clear and always one of the best times, you just show her the course, smile, have fun, and collect your ribbons!
EVENTING: Shown once at Intro, held her own in the middle of the pack against thoroughbreds and warmbloods (rider was unprepared , didn't know the course, and got eliminated near the end). Schooling Intro/BN. Stella loves it! With a bit more schooling on cross country, she will easily move up to BN.
DRESSAGE: Shown at Training locally, 7's for the trot, 6's at the canter, 4's for the walk. Schooling First/Second. Solid shoulder-in, leg-yeild, collected and lengthen stride, simple change through trot and walk. Still schooling: walk pirouette, haunches-in/half passs, counter canter, flying change, more organized circles....
Light and sensive to the aids, so will be happiest with a kid with a quiet seat and tactful hands. She does adapt to the rider, so will be lazy and slow for the little beginners and more forward and sensitive for the int/adv kids.
Stella has never had any soundness issues or injuries. Currently barefoot. No "moody mare" behavior, can't even tell when she's in heat. PPE welcome at buyers expense.
